JOHN HUDSON - TENOR

John HudsonJohn studied at London’s Guildhall before spending a year with the chorus of the Welsh National Opera (WNO), whereupon he was given a contract as a Principal with the English National Opera (ENO), sparking recognition with his debut from respected critics such as the Independent’s Michael White, “The heartening thing about the cast is the debut of John Hudson, a tenor who sings Macduff with such conspicuous distinction that it becomes a major role.  ENO has needed a capacious lyric/spinto tenor with a sense of theatre for a long while.  Here at last he is”.

Since then he has had many roles for the ENO amongst them, Rodolpho (La Boheme), Nadir (The Pearl Fishers), Alfredo, (in Jonathan Miller’s production of La Traviata) and the Duke Rigoletto).  For the WNO he has sung Alfredo and Don Jose and took part in Prince Charles’s 50th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

He has also sung for the Scottish Opera, spent three months in New Zealand with the Auckland Opera where he sang Alfredo and performed the title roles in Ernani and  I Due Foscari for the Nationale Reisopera, Holland. Concert performances abroad include Ottawa, Paris, Florence, Frankfurt and Dublin; and in Great Britain venues including the Barbican Theatre in London and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall.  John has also appeared on various BBC 3 recordings and was a guest on BBC2’s ‘Viva La Diva!’ with Lesley Garrett, also featuring on her CD, Lesley Garrett.

John has played the Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Royal Albert Hall and the title role in Andrea Chenier at Opera Holland Park.

ALEX PAYNE – PRESENTER, JOURNALIST, REPORTER

Alex Payne

The theory that nice guys finish last is blown totally out of the water when it comes to Alex Payne.  One of the youngest presenters on Sky Sports, Alex is proof that good manners and gentlemanly behaviour are still highly valued assets.  In 2005 Alex went with Sky Sports to New Zealand for the British and Irish Lions tour - as a touchline reporter.  He created interesting features on life with the Lions, interviewed some of the biggest names in world rugby, as well as following every twist and turn of the on-field drama.  On returning to Sky he began presenting for Sky Sports News and was thrown straight into the hot seat - a challenge he relished.

Alex enjoys both the unfolding drama of presenting and the creative license of reporting.  He is now a regular presenter on the football based Sky Sports News, presenting up to four shows a week where his
on-air credits include the FIFA World Cup Final and The Ashes, and he has interviewed many of the stars of the sports world, live on air.

He has also settled into the chair for much of Sky's Southern Hemisphere rugby as well, presenting live games from the Tri Nations, Super 14, Currie Cup and Air New Zealand Cup.  He's hosted Sky's Heinken Cup coverage as well.  Away from the mainstream, Alex also presents Poker on Sky Sports and Fox Sports.  He has also featured in live tournaments on the Sky Poker Channel as a player.

Alex is available for corporate events as a speaker, MC, host, auctioneer, as well as for voice-over and presenting work. He is also available as a writer and for radio work and will consider a variety of media projects. He’s totally at ease in front of the camera and with his natural confidence and charm makes the perfect MC, speaker or host at any type of event. He will consider all media projects including, voice-over, radio and writing. He is also available for PR and advertising campaigns. Alex is also a keen golfer and enjoys skiing, sailing and surfing.

SEAN RUANE - TENOR

SeanSince becoming a professional opera singer in 2001, Seán has earned rave reviews for his stage performances whilst simultaneously carving out a niche as the operatic ‘voice of sport’. The Lancashire-born tenor has given performances all over Europe, including at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, and has developed a reputation as one of the leading tenors of his generation.

A life-long Burnley fan, Seán is passionate about sport. In 2005 he bowled over English cricket supporters at The Ashes Test matches with his pre-match rendition of the team anthem, ‘Jerusalem’.

Indeed, following The Ashes triumph, Seán was asked to lead the crowd during the team’s victory celebrations in Trafalgar Square.  In 2007, he was flown out to Australia to sing at the Sydney Cricket Ground for Shane Warne’s retirement from international cricket. He’s also sung at many international football and rugby matches, including the first England fixture at the new Wembley stadium and for Capello’s first game in charge.

The Independent newspaper recently said he possesses: “a voice of passion and beauty that locates him slap bang on the Three Tenors’ plane.”

He arranged his first major solo show called Lipstick Love Songs which he performed at Opera Holland Park Theatre in London backed by a full orchestra.  Sean has performed at The Ashes many times, pumping up the crowds and the players with his rich and rousing anthems. He has also sung with other well known performers like Katherine Jenkins.
