Italian-born Flavia Cacace first entered the public’s conscience in Strictly Come Dancing series four but her most prominent appearance came in the fifth series when she partnered Matt Di Angelo and received the only perfect score of that particular series with their semi-final waltz. They went on to compete together in the live tour and won more shows than any other couple. In the 2011 series Flavia memorably competed with the flamboyant Russell Grant. Each week they thrilled the public with their entertaining routines.
Flavia was born in Naples, the youngest of six children and came to England with her family at the age of four. She was six years old when she and her eldest sister joined the local ballroom dancing class. She met her professional dance partner Vincent Simone when they were both taking lessons with the same teacher. They turned professional in 2001 and were the UK Ten Dance Champions for five consecutive years from 2002 to 2006. They are specialists at the Argentine Tango and have become World Champions in the show dance. They also run their own school of dancing throughout the summer at Guildford College.
